Dream Journal 2/24

The only dream I can remember centered around Batman. I was training to become one of his assistants as was one other person. I can’t remember many of the details, but he was teaching us things–not really about fighting but about how the bat cave worked, and how to order food for takeout. Unfortunately, my memory of it sucks. The part I remember most was being in line at a restaurant. It was a barbecue place–takeout only. He said not to order chicken. I wanted chicken, but I happened to have a piece of barbecued chicken in my pocket so I at that and ordered something else. He seemed pleased by this. In the end, I think he ended up ordering three chickens for us to share, and when we left we seemed to be in quite a hurry. That’s all I can really remember.

Inching forward

Today’s motionlessness session was a bit longer–between 6 and 7 minutes. This time I was in the bedroom on top of the bed spread in my work clothes. The lights were off. I could hear noise from the street and T working on the computer. This time around it was the mouth that did it again–I twitched my tongue and mouth. My fingers proved problematic as they were intensely cold the whole time while the rest of me was warm. I may try again tonight before bed. If I can get in more that one session a few times a week, I might see more progress.

Three of Disks debriefed

“Business. Paid employment. Commercial transaction. Constructive building up. Increase of material things. Growth. Commencement of matters to be established later.”

Well, yes, I did go to work. And I did do all the rearranging and cleaning necessary to finally get a microwave at work so we can all eat hot food during our breaks, so that was nice. So I feel this card is quite accurate. But I go to work often. So why don’t I get the “Paid employment” card every time I go to work. Is the card suggesting that work is the primary part of my day? Perhaps so…I did end up working about eleven hours, which is rare.

Dream Journal 1/28

For the first time in quite awhile, I remembered absolutely nothing.

Four of Disks: Power–a debriefing

Yesterday I had the Four of Disks: Power. The book says:

“Law and order. Gain of money and influence. Earthly power but nothing beyond. Success. Rank. Dominion. Skill in the direction of physical forces.”

Well, yesterday was as lawful as usual, I didn’t gain any money or influence or earthly power. I was not successful in any way that I’m aware of. I did not find myself acquiring rank or dominion. It was just a day.

Today I plan to investigate various theories on how divination in general is supposed to work. I imagine there’s some self-fulfilling prophesy involved, but at the same time I don’t want to rule out the idea the our minds have the ability to tap into something we’re not accustomed to experiencing. I’ve had psychic experiences in the past–one a premonition of being in a car crash that occurred minutes after I experienced the premonition. Another was knowing when my Grandfather died–nearly to the minute, even though we were nearly 700 miles distant. I didn’t discover I was correct for nearly four days. I was on a school trip and my parents didn’t want to ruin it for me. When I came home only my step brother was there with his deadbeat friends and my mom and step-dad were off at the funeral. I’ve had others that may have been psychic experiences but those two examples are the only ones where I am completely sure I had knowledge of something I shouldn’t have. So I have no difficulty believing that one can develop these abilities. What I’m interested in is how these things happen and how that intuition can be harnessed and developed. Will report back.

Today’s card is the Knight of Cups. I’ve drawn him before. Here’s what the book says:

“Represents the fiery part of water. A man who is a graceful dilettante, amiable in a passive way, quick to respond to attraction and easily enthusiastic, exceedingly sensitive but with little depth of character.”

I’ll keep an eye out for him. It’s -4 degrees out right now with wind chill. I don’t think I’ll have much opportunity. He’ll have to come to me.

Technological Woes!

Well, when in rains it pours. Just as I sent my laptop off to be serviced by Dell, my Desktop decided to go kerplooey once and for good. A new hard drive and Windows install later and we’re in business again. I’ll do some round up posts to cover the last couple of days and resume normal posts tomorrow.

Todays card is the Five of Swords: Defeat.

The book says:

“Loss. Malice. Spite. Weakness. Slander. Failure. Anxiety. Poverty. Dishonor. Trouble. Grieving after pain. Ties. Separator of friends. A busybody, cruel yet cowardly, evil speaking.

Ouch. Seems like a good day to stay in and read a book.

Today’s card to learn is The Lovers. The lovers are dressed in royal clotes. The man is black and the woman is white. Standing over them is a cloaked, hooded figure holding his hands palm down over their heads. Cupid hovers at the top. Two cherubic looking children stand at the feet of the lovers. The man has a white child and the woman a black child. The woman’s child is holding a spear, which the man also holds, and the man’s child is holding a cup, which the woman also holds. A lion, snake, and eagle look on from the bottom of the card. The book says:

“Openness to inspiration. Intuition. Intelligence. Childishness. Attraction. Beauty. Love. Ill-dignified: Self-contradiction. Instability. Indecision. Union in a shallo degree with others. Superficiallity.

Today I drew the Knight of Cups:

Here is what the book says:

“Represents the fiery part of water. A man who is a graceful dilettante, amiable in a passive way, quick to respond to attraction and easily enthusiastic, exceedingly sensitive but with little depth of character.

I suppose this means I’ll be coming in contact with such a person? I guess we’ll know soon enough.

Today I’m learning about The Hierophant. I’ve had a chance to get to know this card a bit as I drew it yesterday morning when I did my daily draw. He’s dressed in a robe of gold and wears a pointed hat. He has a long curly beard and holds a sceptre. A woman stands at his feet. She is about 1/3 his size. She holds a staff. She is at the bottom of an elongated five pointed star–the two top points are situated at the Hierophant’s shoulders. That star is within an elongated six point star. Within the five pointed star is another five pointed star which contains a naked child. Two masks hover in the upper corners and two elephant heads are below those, at the Hierophant’s shoulders. A bull wraps around his waist, with the head on one side and the hindquarters on the other. Two masks are at his feet.

The book says

“Divine wisdom. Inspiration. Stubborn strength. Toil. Endurance. Persistence. Teaching. Help from Superiors. Patience. Organization. Peace. Goodness of heart. Occult force voluntarily invoked.
